July: NECC Reflection #1: Where Were the Students?

I chose this month to respond to because I fully agree with what the author is saying. I think it would be a great thing for students to become involved with NECC. Not only would it be beneficial for the school system and staff, but it would also be a great experience for the students. It would be a learning process for all of the attendants. The students could learn about the issues that school systems deal with and be right there in the action of it all, as well as have a chance to voice their opinions on matters that are important to them. And the teachers could learn what is important to the students, and therefore improve their skills. I realize that the issue of money and liability are of concern with an activity such as this one, however hopefully they will find a way to work around that.
